Business Acceleration Services programme: Ecosystem Partnership and Co-investment support

Less than a year after its official launch, the European Innovation Council’s (EIC) unique approach to identifying and scaling up Europe’s game changing innovation has already created a vibrant community. Now, the EIC is inviting its beneficiaries to elaborate on their need for specialised support through a survey for Pathfinder/Transition and Accelerator beneficiaries. The results will contribute to the implementation of the new Ecosystem Partnerships and Co-Investment Support programme.

The Ecosystem Partnerships and Co-Investment Support initiative will help EIC beneficiaries access the services and resources of the EIC’s network of sector-specialised partners and attract private capital along with EIC funding.

Through new strategic partnerships with key actors, such as Business Accelerators, Incubators and Research and Training Organizations, the EIC will help you access the services, facilities, and resources you need to scale up your business and attract further investment.

Background on the Ecosystem Partnerships and Co-investment Support Programme

Launched as a pilot in 2018, the fully-fledged EIC has been operating since March 2021, under the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation 2021-2027 of Horizon Europe.

As a part of Pillar III, ‘Innovative Europe’ the EIC is engaged in the mission to boost Europe’s innovation ecosystems. The goal is to reinforce close cross-border collaboration between multiple actors, including academia, the public sector, industry, and individual entrepreneurs, in order to make the best use of Europe’s scientific excellence and industrial prowess and accelerate innovation.

Currently, the EIC contributes to this mission through its funding instruments and through the Business Acceleration Services (BAS), including coaching, mentoring, and matching, available to its beneficiaries. This new initiative will build on its current features to create a network of specialized sector-focused partners that can help innovators access the services they need and facilitate their interactions with investors.
